Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham didn’t hold back when speaking about her former boss Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention.
“He has no empathy, no morals, and no fidelity to the truth,” she candidly told the crowd, shedding light on her experience as a close adviser to Trump.
Grisham, a Republican, shared her thoughts with Scripps News after her speech at the United Center in Chicago.
“I believe it’s crucial for people to see his true nature,” Grisham expressed, hoping that her insights into Trump would resonate with independents and Republicans.

If Trump were to win, Grisham voiced concerns that he could centralize power and dismantle the checks and balances in the government.
“I believe he aspires to become an elected monarch,” she remarked.
This is not the first time Grisham has criticized Trump. Following her resignation from the White House after the events of January 6, 2021, she penned a book detailing her experiences.
In “I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw at the Trump White House,” Grisham portrays Trump as unpredictable and impulsive.

The book became a New York Times bestseller but also triggered backlash from the right, accusing her of betraying the former president.
Grisham disclosed to Scripps News that she has faced death threats from Trump supporters and anticipates more backlash for speaking out before the 2024 election.
“It’s just part of the job,” Grisham shrugged.
