BOZEMAN — Montana State University’s Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity is preparing for their annual Testy Fest, featuring a country music concert and the infamous rocky mountain oysters as the main event snack.
Senior AGR member, Jack Yore, expressed his excitement for the event, stating, “Being able to help out with it, being able to go to it, being able to watch some good music for not that much money, especially when you know it’s all going to a really good cause”.
Yore, a skilled cook of the delicacy, explained the process of preparing the rocky mountain oysters for frying, “Kinda coat it a little bit, put it back in the egg wash again, coat it some more, then from there that’s kinda how you do the coating stuff and then we’ll get frying here”.
Testy Fest is not only a concert but also a charitable event, with all proceeds going to various organizations that support veterans, youth, and agriculture in Montana.
Avery Kenny, AGR philanthropy chair, emphasized the importance of community support, “It’s going to be a really fun event, and we’re just looking to donate the most amount of money possible and help support the organizations that in turn support our community here in Bozeman”.
For those not interested in trying the Rocky Mountain Oysters, Kenny reassured, “If you don’t want to try the Rocky Mountain Oysters then no worries about that. If you want to come for the concert, that’s what we’re here for”.
Testy Fest will take place on Friday, Sept. 13 at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman.
Yore added, “It’s a very good amount of people, a lot of bull testicles”.
