GARDINER, Mont. – Park County will receive additional federal aid to enhance disaster resilience and create well-paying jobs following the historic flooding in Gardiner of 2022.
This is part of the Biden-Harris administration’s $1.3 billion initiative aimed at addressing the impacts of disasters from 2021 and 2022.
The significant flooding of the Yellowstone River in 2022 caused extensive damage to the area, including sweeping entire houses downstream.
Officials revealed that $162,000 from the initiative will be allocated to the Gardiner Park County Water District. These funds, distributed through the U.S. Agriculture Department, will be used to replace and widen over 600 feet of water main pipes.
