Model Crystal McKinney has filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging that the rapper drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2003, resulting in “substantial and lifetime injuries”.
McKinney, who was 22 at the time, met Combs at a Men’s Fashion Week event at Cipriani Downtown in New York City, where he was representing his clothing line Sean John.
In court documents, McKinney claims a fashion designer, only referred to as “the designer” in the lawsuit, worked to make her attractive to Combs and introduced them. Throughout the dinner event, Combs made sexual advances towards McKinney and continued to compliment her appearance.
Despite feeling uncomfortable, McKinney was encouraged by Combs to visit his studio after the event. There, she was pressured to consume alcohol and marijuana which she later found out had been laced with a substance by Combs.
While heavily intoxicated, McKinney was forced into a bathroom by Combs where he sexually assaulted her without her consent. She woke up later feeling physically ill and was taken back to the designer’s apartment in a taxi.
McKinney has since suffered from severe depression, anxiety, and addiction to drugs and alcohol as a result of the assault. She also claims that her opportunities in the industry declined, and her marriage fell apart due to trauma from the incident.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for the damages caused by Combs’ actions. This legal action comes after a video surfaced of Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016, leading to multiple abuse, sexual assault, and drug allegations against him.
