Either way, Thursday’s first-round Class A and B-C state softball games in Billings have been postponed to Friday morning, according to Lockwood Athletic Director Mike Erickson.
The tournaments, originally scheduled to begin Thursday morning, were at first slid back to the afternoon, but heavy rainfall created unplayable field conditions and minor flooding at Stewart Park, necessitating further postponement.

Glendive-Ronan and Frenchtown-Lockwood are now scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Dillon-Fergus and Havre-Hamilton follow at 10 a.m.
In Class B-C, the Florence-Carlton-Huntley Project and Conrad-Choteau-Three Forks matchups are slated for 8 a.m. Shepherd-Thompson Falls and Manhattan-Glasgow follow at 10 a.m.
Field crews at Stewart Park plan to clear standing water and begin field prep work once rain halts Thursday afternoon.
“We are hoping to get the fields cleared after it stops raining and roll with an 8 a.m. start,” Huntley Project Athletic Director Tim Kaczmarek said.
