Another early scoring explosion propelled the Missoula PaddleHeads to their sixth win in seven games Wednesday, an 11-5 decision over the Ogden Raptors in Utah.
One day after igniting for eight runs in the first two frames, Zootown’s Pioneer League pro baseball team tallied seven in the first two. The PaddleHeads maintained a five-run cushion the rest of the way in improving to 6-2.
The 11-run total marked the seventh straight game Missoula has scored 10 or more. The top of the Missoula order was especially good Wednesday, with Kamron Willman, Alec Sanchez and Adam Fogel piling up seven hits combined.
The PaddleHeads jumped to a 2-0 lead in their first at-bat behind an RBI single by Sanchez. They stretched their lead to 7-1 in the second, powered by Cam Thompson’s solo home run, Willman’s RBI single, and Josh Elvir’s two-RBI base hit.
