The Bear‘s third season is quickly approaching. While specific details about storylines and guest stars are still a secret until the June 27 premiere, one burning question remains: Where is Carmy Berzatto’s (Jeremy Allen White) father?
In Season 2’s Christmas episode, “Fishes,” fans met the Berzatto family, but Carmy’s dad was notably absent. Could there be a surprise casting of a popular actor playing his role in the upcoming season? Knowing the show’s track record of attracting top-tier talent, anything is possible.
The whereabouts of Carmy’s dad have been hinted at before, especially in a Season 1 conversation with Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt). In the episode “Dogs,” Carmy pointed out a photo of his father and Jimmy in their younger days.

During their conversation, Jimmy revealed that he hadn’t spoken to Carmy’s dad in about two decades after a falling out. The reasons for their rift included issues with drugs, alcohol, and gambling, along with frequent career changes. This ultimately led the Berzatto family into the restaurant business.
Although Carmy’s dad has only appeared in a photo in Season 1, there is potential for an exciting casting if the show decides to explore his character further.
