Gary Johnson is a local college professor who takes on a side gig in Hit Man, set to debut on Netflix on June 7. His life changes dramatically when he begins posing as a fake hitman for the police department, tasked with catching individuals planning to harm their enemies. Gary adopts various personas for each case, fully immersing himself in a new role.
One of these personas is Ron, a charming and seductive character whose presence can captivate even the most hardened criminals. When Ron crosses paths with Madison (Adria Arjona), a potential suspect, their relationship quickly becomes intense and passionate. The chemistry between Ron and Madison adds a level of sensuality to the film, making it one of the sexiest movies in recent years. Glen Powell, who co-wrote the film with director Richard Linklater, discussed the electric romance between Ron and Madison with TV Insider.
“If this is a contemplation on identity and passion, he’s transitioning from a more logical, thoughtful persona to someone who lives for the thrill and danger of the moment. She brings that element into his character,” Powell explained about Ron’s dynamic with Madison. “In terms of the intimate scenes in the movie, they play a crucial role in the character development and transformation. The audience needs to witness their love story unfold in order to connect with the characters.”
Powell and Linklater explored the “erotic thriller” aspect of Hit Man and acknowledged that it is a genre that is somewhat outdated. They emphasized the importance of authentic chemistry when portraying such scenes.
The Anyone But You star praised Arjona for bringing her creativity and intellect to the romantic scenes between Ron and Madison, describing it as essential to breathing life into the characters and storyline.
