Kylian Mbappé is officially a player for Real Madrid.
Madrid announced on Monday that they have reached a deal with the French star for the next five seasons, uniting one of soccer’s top talents with its most successful club.
The announcement ends years of speculation surrounding Madrid’s interest in the player who has been hailed as the best in the game after Lionel Messi.
“A dream come true,” Mbappé said on X. “So happy and proud to join the club of my dreams. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas (Madrid fans), and thanks for your unbelievable support. ¡Hala Madrid!”

The post, written in English, Spanish, and French, was accompanied by photos of a young Mbappé wearing a Madrid jacket during a visit to the club, including one with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Madrid did not disclose the financial details of the deal or the official introduction date for Mbappé, who is currently with France for the European Championship.
The 25-year-old World Cup winner joins a talented Madrid team that recently celebrated its sixth European triumph in 10 seasons.
Mbappé joins a team with emerging stars like Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham, potentially reigniting Madrid’s famous “galactico” era.

Mbappé previously played for French clubs Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain, leaving PSG as a free agent after declining to renew his contract. Madrid had previously tried to sign him, offering 180 million euros to PSG in 2021.
Madrid president Florentino Pérez had been keen on Mbappé since the player visited the club at 14 years old but chose to join Monaco instead. The Qatar-backed PSG rejected Madrid’s bid in 2021 but Mbappé eventually joined Madrid as a free agent.
Mbappé’s achievements include winning the World Cup, dominating French league competitions, and showcasing remarkable scoring ability in games. He now captains France and boasts an impressive resume in international competitions.
