Drew Basile is making a comeback to reality competition TV, this time showcasing his intelligence on the game show Jeopardy!. Catch his episode airing on Wednesday, June 19.
The Survivor 45 participant shared the news on his Instagram account on Tuesday, June 4.
Basile, who previously competed on CBS’ Survivor Season 45, finishing in sixth place, is a college graduate from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied English and Philosophy. He was known as the “know-it-all” of the season due to his strong strategic skills, always staying ahead on the majority vote. Despite his intellect, he was blindsided by a fellow contestant and voted out. Identified as a “nerd” throughout the season, Basile is now pursuing his masters in English Literature at the University of Oxford in England.
Basile, possibly the first to appear on both competition shows, joins the likes of Jeopardy! champion Juveria Zaheer who is the sister of Survivor 42 contestant Omar Zaheer. Both shows have shared common faces, with long-time Survivor host Jeff Probst even making appearances on Celebrity Jeopardy in 2001 and 2003.
Fans have expressed their excitement for Basile on social media, praising his versatile talents and expressing high expectations for his performance on Jeopardy.
Throughout his time at Penn, Basile held internships and research positions, showcasing his diverse skill set. Originally from Birmingham, Mich., Basile now resides in Philadelphia.
