BOZEMAN — On a recent weekend during a family trip to the Midwest with a stop in Atlanta, I saw “BOZEMAN” on the Gate A20 reader board and smiled when I noticed the Delta flight number.
It felt perfect, almost like it was meant to be.
Is there a more iconic area code in America?
As I waited for my flight back for the final weekend of 406 MT Sports’ eighth school year, I couldn’t help but think about how fitting it was for a publication that has become the go-to source for statewide sports.

Thanks to our readers, we are soaring high.
When we made the decision last summer to start charging a modest fee for access to 406 MT Sports, I was a bit nervous. However, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with loyal readers continuing to support us throughout this milestone year.
After decades of free content, it’s heartening to see readers value the service we provide and the quality of our sports coverage.
Throughout the busy seasons of Cat-Griz, high school football, and basketball, we added subscribers and received support from our dedicated contributors who help make this endeavor a success.
We are constantly evolving and looking to expand our coverage in different regions, as well as diversify our content to focus on compelling stories and events, rather than just game coverage.
As we continue to grow, our goal is to provide comprehensive sports coverage in Montana and beyond.
