BILLINGS — An area of low pressure will quickly pass over Montana and Wyoming from Sunday afternoon through Monday, bringing multiple chances for rain and thunderstorms across the region. Some areas may experience heavy rain briefly, with the majority of rainfall expected tonight and again late Monday morning.
A Flood Advisory is in effect for parts of Park, Sweet Grass, Stillwater, and Carbon counties until Monday evening, as heavy rain and snowmelt could cause rivers and streams to swell. Additionally, there is a Flood Advisory for Big Goose Creek near Sheridan, Wyoming, and a Flood Watch for the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River.
Following the departure of the clouds on Monday evening, a ridge will build over the Rockies, but the jetstream will bring sunshine, warmer temperatures, and gusty winds to the northern states from Tuesday through Thursday. Wednesday is expected to be the windiest day, with breezier conditions on Tuesday and Thursday. More clouds are likely next weekend.
