Homeowners in Missoula and other parts of Montana are experiencing non-renewals, increased premiums, and reduced potential reimbursement levels. Montana is lagging behind other states that have suffered significant losses from tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods.
Adrian Beck, Missoula County’s Emergency Management Office director, predicts that Montana will feel the impacts soon. Residents are advised to focus on fire-wise defensive efforts to protect their properties.
Headwaters Economics released a guide in May for confronting urban wildfire risks, emphasizing the need for preparedness.
