It’s undeniable that Caitlin Clark is a talented basketball player with the potential to be one of the top players in the WNBA.
However, whether she currently ranks among the elite players in the WNBA is still a topic of debate.
As a rookie playing for the Indiana Fever, Clark has revealed that she will not be included in Team USA’s Olympic roster, implying that she may not be considered one of the top 12 American players in the WNBA.
Upon learning this news, Clark expressed her determination to use it as motivation for improvement.
“I’m happy for the girls who made the team,” Clark said. “I understand it’s a highly competitive team and the decision could have gone either way for me.”

Fever coach Christie Sides acknowledged Clark’s determination, mentioning Clark’s response of “They woke a monster,” which she found admirable.
Clark shared that she was informed in advance of the roster decision, showing appreciation for the respect shown by Team USA in the process.
Even though she won’t be part of the upcoming Olympic team, Clark, at 22 years old, will have more opportunities to aim for the roster in future Olympic Games, including the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.
Sides reassured Clark by emphasizing her youth and the multiple chances she will have to achieve her Olympic dreams.
After 12 games in her rookie season, Clark currently ranks 14th in scoring, 4th in assists, and 24th in rebounds, but she leads the league in turnovers per game.
