A member of the jury who found Hunter Biden guilty of three felony gun charges expressed his belief that the president’s son should not be sentenced to jail for his crimes.
The jury unanimously convicted Hunter Biden on Tuesday of three felony charges related to lying about his drug use on a 2018 federal gun-purchase form. These charges revealed that Biden would have been ineligible to purchase the gun if he had disclosed his drug use.
Shortly after the verdict was announced, an unidentified male juror, designated as No. 10, shared with CNN that the jury had not considered the sentencing during deliberations but he now believes that Hunter Biden should not be incarcerated.
Juror No. 10 justified his opinion by referencing the circumstances of how the gun was discovered, suggesting that the situation could have been avoided if Biden had retrieved the gun when it was found in a trash can.
Testimony from Hallie Biden revealed that she had disposed of the gun from Hunter Biden’s truck in 2018, and despite its retrieval, Biden did not pursue legal action for theft nor request the gun back.
Reflecting on the case, the juror stated, “If he had taken possession of that gun, I don’t know if we would even have a trial.”
The guilty verdict concluded an investigation that spanned several years and was supported by Hunter Biden’s disclosure of drug use in his book, “Beautiful Things: A Memoir,” coinciding with the gun purchase.

Now facing the possibility of a 25-year prison sentence, Hunter Biden has been found guilty of making false statements in connection with firearm acquisition, falsifying required information, and illegal possession of a firearm as a drug user.
The decision, reached after three hours of deliberation, turned unanimous after a prior split among jurors on the guilty verdict.
Juror No. 10 clarified that political considerations were not a factor in the decision-making process and that President Joe Biden’s name was only minimally mentioned during trial.
Sympathetic to Hunter Biden’s struggles with addiction, the juror expressed a sense of sadness for the family’s hardships, although little emphasis was placed on his lifestyle during jury discussions.
Despite reservations about involving Hunter Biden’s daughter in testimony, the juror concurred with the decision, while disagreeing with the sentiment that the case was a misuse of taxpayer funds.
