Exciting developments are on the horizon in the upcoming episode of Power Book II: Ghost. Ever since Effie made her debut in Season 5 of the original Power series, she has established herself as a significant player in the power dynamics. Introduced as the love interest of Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.), Effie ultimately orchestrated his expulsion by anonymously tipping off the Choate administration about his drug dealings.
As the story progresses, Effie finds herself caught in the complexities of her relationship with Tariq and Brayden (Gianni Paolo) as they attempt to expand their business to other Ivy League schools. Effie’s ability to swiftly navigate challenging situations and prioritize her own interests makes her a formidable force.
Lapri, who portrays Effie, explains, “Effie likes to pride herself as the one that never needs saving, like, I can do this on my own. I’ve always been by myself, I don’t need anyone. But sometimes you do need someone.”

Because we’re used to seeing Effie dominant, large, and in charge. And with Noma, she really can’t do that.”
