MISSOULA — The Pioneer League’s winningest team in the independent era enjoys a variety of benefits, both obvious and subtly compelling.
Pitcher Andrew Garcia made a successful transition from starter to closer for the Great Falls Voyagers, catching the eye of Missoula PaddleHeads manager Michael Schlact and ultimately choosing to join the team over other offers.
Garcia, with a league-leading five saves and a 2.70 ERA, has been a standout performer for the PaddleHeads, impressing Schlact with his pitching prowess and work ethic.
Coming from southern California, Garcia followed in his father’s baseball footsteps, excelling in college and overcoming early struggles in the Pioneer League to become a key player for Missoula.
