Republican lawmakers in Helena, Montana have unsuccessfully pushed for a special session to be called this summer.
Last month, a majority of lawmakers voted against the idea, confirming that the special session will not be taking place.
The proposed session would have focused on tightening immigration laws and reallocating funds generated by the State’s legal marijuana tax program.
Both Democrats and the Freedom Caucus called for special sessions this year, but their requests were denied.
The Democrats wanted to address property taxes, while Republicans were eager to discuss marijuana legislation. It now appears that neither topic will be addressed until the next scheduled session.
