GIBBON, Neb. — The Gibbon family that bought the Cosmo Treats food trailer includes an 11-year-old entrepreneur.
The family already has an ice cream truck. Jackson Thornburg, who’s 11, owns the truck.
When the family bought the ice cream truck, Jackson had $4,000 in his savings account. A family member gave him a loan to make up the difference.
The family has been selling ice cream out of the truck since July 4 of last year.
Business is very good, said Jim Rayburn, who’s the head of the family.
Rayburn bought the food trailer from Nebraska’s Platte River Cosmopolitan Club to expand the business, and to serve as insurance in case the ice cream truck needs work.
