The 2024 NBA Finals have come and gone, and the Boston Celtics are your new NBA champions after taking out the Dallas Mavericks in five games. Attention now begins to turn toward next season and at online sportsboooks, futures odds have already been released for 2024-25.

2024-25 NBA Championship odds: Celtics, Nuggets favored to win next year’s title
When we look at the recently released 2025 NBA championship odds (courtesy of DraftKings), it comes as no surprise to see the Boston Celtics (+280) at the top of the board.
As we move down, the next three teams are all from the Western Conference: Denver (+700), Oklahoma City (+800) and Minnesota Timberwolves (+850). Denver is a recent NBA champion, while OKC and Minnesota are both on the rise with young stars of their own in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards.
To close out the top eight, we have Milwaukee (+850), Dallas (+900), Philadelphia (+1200) and the New York Knicks (+1400).
The Boston Celtics are fresh off an NBA Finals victory, and frankly, a fairly dominant playoff run. There is no reason to believe they can’t be back in a very similar situation next season, even if the rest of the Eastern Conference poses more of a threat than it did this time around.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have proven they can not only co-exist, but thrive together. No matter what shape this group takes around those two heading into 2024-25, they will be a major player.
The Oklahoma City Thunder finished first in the Western Conference this season, but they ran into Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the postseason. The result: a six-game loss despite leading 1-0 in the series.
Even though OKC came up short in its first deep run into the postseason with this current group, it expects to be a factor for years to come with SGA and Chet Holmgren leading the way.
The New York Knicks bowed out in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, but considering all that went into the 2023-24 season for this group, maybe there’s reason to keep an eye on this team at 14-1 or better.
Tom Thibodeau got the most out of an injury-riddled team that won 50 games and secured the No. 2 seed. By the end they were missing Julius Randle, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson, without even counting late-season injuries to Josh Hart, Jalen Bruson and Isaiah Hartenstein.
Over his two seasons in New York, Brunson has proven himself to be a star. If the Knicks choose to run things back, starting with a healthy Julius Randle, one of the best defensive teams in the NBA suddenly becomes a whole lot more dynamic on offense.
